Planning for your future success

do you consciously sit down and create a working plan to execute in your business?

Planning for the future
do you consciously sit down and create a working plan to execute in your business?

You will always hear that it is a smart move to actually sit down and create a business plan that you can both follow and achieve your goals within the timelines that you set for yourself.

Having achievable goals will encourage you to continue reaching for the next steps of being successful in your business.

It is always best to have a plan for your business, if you don't you will be caught up in the whirlwind of the day-to-day, and you may never see that big picture.

For those that are just starting out in running a home based machine quilting business - your business plan might look a little like this over the first 2 years:

  • Research to find the longarm machine that suits both your physicality and your budget
  • Commit to understanding how to maintain and use your machine
  • Master how to balance your tension using different threads
  • Practice, practice, practice
  • Master how to execute pantos and keep quilts straight on your frame
  • Create your business name and branding
  • Learn how to market yourself
  • Learn how to communicate with customers and suggest quilting designs
  • Practice your freehand skills
  • Educate yourself and your customers on the properties of the materials used in a quilt. Fabric, batting and threads.
  • Learn how to use rulers with your machine
  • Build your own style of quilting that you LOVE to do.

Here at Machine Quilting Academy we are no different when working towards providing the tools that will help you to achieve where you want to go in your machine quilting career and/or business!

Very recently a survey was created to endeavour to learn how we can improve and also plan future courses that YOU are requesting, plus getting some valuable feedback on other aspects of this site. Whilst it may take some time to achieve it all, there is so much guidance from you all that I can create over a 12 month plan of goals to work towards.

A special gift has been drawn for all those who chose to enter the draw when completing this survey.

The recipient has been contacted for their mailing address and hopefully soon we will see a photo of their smiling face with their gift!

Congratulations Ann!
